1 year anniversary mega-trip
The r-dub site has been online one year as of 5/12/06, and I thought it best to celebrate with another roadtrip. I planned this one out before leaving home, and just kept going until the batteries in my camera were dead and the memory card in my camera almost full. What I was left with was a ton of pictures and a car with an additional 720 miles on it. Okay, maybe this trip was a little too long...
It's a long one: get a drink and get comfy
Page 1 finds us heading north from the home base to Denver to answer the request of an online friend.
Page 2 takes us from downtown Denver through Golden then up into the mountains on I-70.
Page 3 goes from I-70 to US 40 and Berthoud Pass.
Page 4. Continuing up Berthoud Pass then down through Winter Park. There's a railfan shot of the Moffatt Tunnel (well, as good as I could get) on this page, too.
Page 5. US 40 is the home to many highway END!s, and I got pics of them to prove it. There's also some railfanning shots interspersed with the roadgeekdom.
Page 6. Up Muddy and Rabbit Ears Passes on US 40.
Page 7. Steamboat Springs, filling up the car, and heading back the way we came for a while. We also pick up a passenger!
Page 8 shows us North Park in all its glory. Also gets another END!
Page 9 starts us in North Park, then takes us along SH 14 over Cameron Pass. Find out what makes a road a Level 6 Road!
Page 10 still finds us in Poudre Canyon, where the trip almost ends prematurely!
Page 11. We still have some daylight left, so how about a quick trip to Cheyenne? You'll get to see Wyoming's non-Interstate 180!
Disclaimer: I am in no way affiliated with any of the orginizations listed within this site. I'm just a bored roadgeek with way too much time on his hands. All of the picts in this page are mine and mine alone unless otherwise noted. Remember, kids: stealing is bad, mmmm-k? I get quite pissy if things are taken without telling me. I don't like to be pissy. You won't like it either. If you want to link to this page, that's fine. Please shoot me an email beforehand so I can link to your page as well. K? Thanks. --Ryan
