jonesin' for a roadtrip 3
Well, it's time for me to hit the road again. I'm getting bogged down at work again, and it'll help me out if I take off and clear my mind. This is a big trip, and it'll be a bit before we hit home again. Sit back, relax, and enjoy the pictures!
The final leg
Heading south on the last leg of SH 9 now. Daylight's fading fast, so my picts will go from iffy because of clouds and rain to iffy because of low light. Woot! Don't worry: I didn't keep the majority of the bad picts.
Looks like Park County can't afford multiple CR signs. This is the turnoff to Guffey, which is spelled right on these signs.
A helpful warning about this stretch of SH 9: the curves aren't really that banked for the 65 mph speed limit. if you see an advisory sign, it's best to follow it.
Cement-lined dip. Considering how there's a lot of nothing around here, I'd hate to get caught in a flash flood here.
Heading towards the southern terminus of SH 9. I'll talk about the bridge in the background in a bit.
So that bridge in the background of the pic three back is none other than the Royal Gorge Bridge, the world's highest suspension bridge. Although it doesn't seem like it in these picts, the floor of the gorge is 1053 feet below the bridge deck. It's a sight to see.
Well, you made it through another r-dub roadtrip! Hope you enjoyed it! There's more where this came from!
